Captain America (incl HD trailer)

This year, it's finally coming! Captain America: The First Avenger, another chapter in the Marvel universe. What can we expect from the film? What is the big story? And why the choice of the actors?

Captain America, transformation

The story tells you about the young Steve Rogers who is physically too weak to join the army. He gets rejected to serve his own country and instead he signed himself up for a secret project of America where the goal is to create a kind of supersoldier.

The project succeeds and Steve is all buffed up and ready to kick some nazi ass. I like how they chose for Chris Evans to take on the role of Steve Rogers, or Captain America, because his physique is able to show the transformation from skinny man to buffed up muscle soldier. Digitally mastered or not, I don't care. Chris Evans is mostly known for his role in the Fantastic Four as the human torch (which he did pretty good) and you would expect nagging Marvel fans about the fact that he plays 2 marvel heroes now. Well, first of all, I don't see Fantastic Four dragged into the movie universe of Marvel (story connection) and second, I think they made the right choice to actually cast Chris Evans. He is young and not unknown with the Marvel Universe. So yeah, no problem.

Story connections *(may contain spoilers if you haven't seen Iron man 1&2 and The Hulk movies)*

If one thing gets everyone's attention, it's the big story on the background going on. The Marvel Universe comes together in all the movies. Actually, The Avengers is scheduled for mid-2012 as a coming together of all the previous movies like The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 1 & 2, Thor and Captain America! For the ones who've seen all the films (except Thor and Cpt. America), you have all noticed the endings (well, at least, if you stayed in your seat at the movies or watched all the credits on your DVD/Blu-ray). Characters like Nick Fury from the S.H.I.E.L.D. gather heroes to form a group. Also, if you watch the trailer, you'll notice how someone names a Mr. Stark, presumably the father of Tony Stark (which makes perfectly sense, since it is being said in Iron Man that the father of Tony helped America defeat the nazi's) and that just tingles my love for connections throughout films. How all the stories come together and every character meets each other. But, I guess we will have to wait for 2012.
For now, watch the awesome trailer of Captain America (Full HD if you want, but you have to watch the trailer on Youtube for the option)
