inFamous 2, the hype got me

inFamous, the game that surprised me, electrified me (wauw, didn't see that one coming did ya?), gave me the chills (ok, I'll stop) and really let me play it for hours and hours! The story surprised me, though there are divided opinions about that. It was released in the time that Prototype was released and people couldn't stop themselves from comparing the two. I'm not gonna make an article about a comparison between the two, I'll just conclude right away that inFamous was way more awesome! Not only were the characters fun, but the plot kinda screwed with my mind. I wanted more! And so, after a while, inFamous 2 was announced. What to think of it?

inFamous 2, messing with the character

First of all, I'm not gonna spoil anything of inFamous 2's story and I'm actually leaving the story part out, because, by the looks of the sequel, it still remains vague. What we do know, is that it will be packed with great action, new powers and alot more missions (latest trailer, on this page). But, as many of you know, inFamous 2 kinda shocked people (haha, here we go again) with the change of voice actor and the apparel of the character. First off, his head was more hairy than ever:
Pic from the first trailer
But, after a lot of comments from the fans and gamers overall, they decided to use the razor and make him more resembling with the old Cole:
Including badass scar
Now, the voice actor remained, they couldn't hire the old one, because the motion capture consisted of both audio and body performance, which the previous voice actor couldn't offer, next to his voice. Personally, I think it's a bullshit argument, the Cole from the first one had that unique badass tone in his voice. But hey, I'm not the developer, so I guess I'll just have to accustom to the new one. I mean, it's not a disaster, but it ruins some of the magic.

Comic style, to draw or not to draw

Awesome comic style!
Between all the buzz the game was getting, there were also rumors about the comic style disappearing. Clearly, Sucker Punch wanted a new breeze through inFamous 2 with its character, but scratching the awesome comic style hand drawn scenes, no way josé! Gladly, after a while they said the comic scenes would return, just like the previous game. It's already obvious in the trailers. But thank god they didn't want to strip the game from all its roots.

What's up with the ice?

The few things that caught my attention was the icey title of the first trailer (I skipped the 'chills' and 'shock' jokes for ya). As power, it surely is awesome that we can probably use the element of water on our new enemies, but it is here where the first question rises: What the hell, ice? It probably has to do something with the new story (no shit Sherlock!) but I don't know, we don't wanna dwell on too many powers in a game, for I already had much at the end of inFamous. Overpower takes away the element of...uhm...I don't know....CHALLENGE (*cough* Prototype) and it will make the game too easy I guess. We'll see whether they made the right balance and preserved the challenge or maybe they... wait.....even made it more difficult? (personally, I don't see that happening, maybe in the form of some time challenges, but that's it)

Now, as reward for your time you took to read my article, it's time for an awesome trailer which shows you a new thing from inFamous 2, which I personally welcome as new mode. Check it out!
