Weekly update, Crysis 2, LA Noire, Shogun 2, COJ: Cartel & SR3!

Now I hear you thinking, is he gonna write something like this every week? Well no, but I have multiple things which I thought were interesting for an article, that's why I combine them. But hey, nice little overview of things, gone through my interest-filter. I present you, L.A. Noire, Crysis 2, Shogun 2, Call of Juarez: Cartel and my personal favorite, Saint's Row 3!

L.A. Noire and the art of facial animation

This week, a trailer came out about the gameplay and story. I already saw a couple other trailers before but this reminded me how this game is freaking awesome on the facial animations! Imagine this engine being adapted by other games (maybe GTA sometime?) I surely hope that the gameplay is not going to suck or be repetitive. Games with new technologies tend to be repetitive at first, and the sequel is better (Assassins Creed, anyone?). Here is the trailer :D

Crysis 2, the killing is on!

Obivously, the emphasis is put on the multiplayer with the sequel of one of the most beautiful games on the PC ever. Though the first one sometimes felt like a tech-demo instead of game, it was still awesome! Crysis 2 has an additional multiplayer which clearly looked at other popular multiplayer games for the leveling up. But the unique thing of Crysis 2 is the way you can use your suitpowers to kill everyone. They remind me of some perks and class specificities from other games, but it doesn't look bad at all. Here is an awesome trailer from the multiplayer, it's from a month ago or so, but it has Invaders Must die on the background, man, do I love that!

Total War: Shogun 2 (wait, did you turn the title?)

Yup, I did, because they decided to. I think I'm going to make an article about the game since it apparently blew over a friend of mine who is addicted to strategy games and he almost lost conciousness when he saw the graphics. But, since this week had some news about it, here it is. We've got a couple strategy trailers of the developers. They show how nice the graphics are and they really put the focus on context this time. I mean, it is awesome to win a battle, but it's more awesome when you know why you have won it and what you have won with it. You know how it goes in the East, it's all about honor!

Call of Juarez: Cartel, que pasa motherfucker!?

Packshot
The first in the series seriously blew me (or swept me) away with the astonishing graphics back then and the really awesome story! The characters were amazing and the different gameplay styles were more than interesting. The second part, Blood Brothers, wasn't bad, but it didn't blow me away like the first part. They did a good job on the brothers and the story, but the first part really had some magic. The serenity of Billy and the kickass action of Ray was awesome, but the second game was more hillybilly-lets-get-em-boys no brainer, and that was a bit disappointing.
But WHAT THE F*CK did they do with part three, seriously.
Blablablabla, modern western gangster cartel shit.....

Ok fine, maybe it isn't all that bad, but if it wasn't for the trailer that came out this week, I would've gone Ray on their ass!

Saint's Row 3, the fun, the war, the next holy grail!
Are you ready to rumbleeeeeeeeeeee? Hell yeah, so this week, alot of news and buzz around Saint's Row 3, and not without reason, because the details they published this week were enough to make my heart beat faster.

Details, listed for you:

- The game still evolves around the same names
- There are nice new crazy costumes, like for example, The Hulk.
- Multiplayer is gone (what?!), but the co-op stays (phew)
- It's possible to upgrade your weapons, for example, add a grenade launcher to your rifle.
- New kind of weapon which let's you shoot an electronic bug which shuts a vehicle off (you know, that kickass thing the police used in 2 Fast 2 Furious). This gives you the option to take over vehicles. Upgrades will let you take over vehicles like helicopters and tanks.
- There are three gangs, the masked msucled guys, the deckers (nerds) and the STAG, Special Tactical Anti-Gang.
- There are different ways to end a mission. When you are left with a boat full of whores, you can sell the boat  or keep the boat. Take over a skycraper, or blow it up.
- The advanced character biological level system we know from GTA San Andreas, which makes you be fat, thin or whatever you want.
- All new is the leveling system with simple level ups like accuracy, damage, weapons or stamina.
- Every gang has their own custom things. You can upgrade cars to make them stronger so you can outrun the police or bump them.
- New weird weapons, like sex toys and baseball bats. (hitting old women with a purple dildo, you know you want it!)
- Call in airstrikes :D
- Every weapon has their animation when hitting someone.
- It is possible to sprint and steal a car the over the top way. Sprinting and stealing a car is on the same button (LB) so now, you can just jump through the window and steal the car. Ain't that awesome?
- Mayhem missions return! Wooohooooo, my favorite one!

I don't even think it's possible to not like this game! Everybody, get on the pain train, destination: Crazytown! Where people hit other people with purple dildo's and dress up like the Hulk to do their daily courses!
